Five Yrs Old Girl Solicits For Pope's Support (See Details Below)
So sweet! Pope Francis had a very important meeting during the papal motorcade in Washington D.C. when he was approached by five-year-old, Sophie Cruz. But the little girl, wasn’t just looking for a blessing, she wanted the Pope to help her family stay in America!

The incident occurred when the Papal motorcade was driving down a Washington D.C. street. A little girl in a brightly colored red and white dress could be seen being escorted by a security guard alongside the barricades. Pope Francis waved Sophie over to his vehicle and she was lifted up to him. After giving her a kiss she handed him a letter which he took and she then walked away. Later she spoke with the media and told them that her letter read in part, “I would like you to ask you to speak with the president and the Congress in legalizing my parents because every day I am scared that one day they will take them away from me. I believe I have the right to live with my parents, I have the right to be happy.” Hopefully little Sophie gets her wish.
It’s been an eventful trip for the Pope. Upon his arrival at 4 p.m. on Sept. 22, he was led down the streets of Washington, D.C. to the Joint Base Andrews military facilities. Adoring fans lined up on the streets to welcome the Pope. They have all been awaiting his arrival since he announced it in Nov. 2014. Pope Francis’ stop in the nation’s capital marks the third papal visit to occur in D.C., historically. Both of his predecessors, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II, made trips during their stays in the U.S., also meeting with the presidents of the time.
